His father, Late Sri Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy, was a veteran Freedom Fighter, an eminent lawyer in the State of Hyderabad, and former Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Justice Konda Madhava Reddy graduated from The Nizam College, Hyderabad, and completed his M.A., LL.B. from Poona-Bombay University.
After retirement, he enrolled as a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India and practiced there until his demise.
Justice Konda Madhava Reddy gave several landmark judgments published in various law journals. He was involved in many cultural, social and educational institutions. He was the founding president and chairman of Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Institute, which runs an Engineering College and a School. He was also the president of AV Educational Society, a premier institution which runs degree colleges and schools.
He was associated with Andhra Vidyalaya Educational Society and Raja Bahaddur Venkat Rama Reddy Hostel. He was also Chairman of Kuchipudi Dance Arts Academy and Chairman of Indra Seva Sadan, which is devoted to the cause of the deprived classes and runs orphanage and educational institutions.
Justice Konda Madhava Reddy was a sports enthusiast. He played hockey and tennis, and had a keen interest in music and fine arts.
In commemoration of his services, admirers, friends, followers, and members of his family formed the Konda Madhava Reddy Foundation.
